Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on August 9 1976 the eldest of four children. The actress was inspired by her parents, dentist and a teacher who were both teachers to pursue her passion for the theatre. This contrasted her earlier ambition to be a primatologist due to the fact that she loved monkeys. Her meteoric rise as an actress in her early years was quick and marked by her early successes. In 1998, after completing her studies, she was able to be a part of Jeunes Premiers an French television talent-scouting program that was sponsored by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to embark on a acting profession. Tautou was raised in the context of a Catholic home, and was a member of the her church even though she went to school in The Institut Catholique de Paris. Alongside her acting work, she is also pursuing modelling. She was the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and is known as "The Chanel Muse". She is a keen photographer and has recently exhibited in The Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Photography of her is primarily focused on celebrity and fame, and turns the camera on those who scrutinized her after her meteoric rise in fame and fortune with Amelie as well as a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's worldwide popularity and success exploded following her performance in the film as Amelie Poulain's main woman in Le Fabuleux of Amelie Poulain. Amelie won international acclai box office success and was recognized at award galas across the world. It's the largest French film in the history of French language to be made on the US.
