Jennifer Garner, born April 17, 1972, in Houston, Texas, was raised within Charleston West Virginia. Her dad, William John Garner, worked as a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in a college near her. So that she could follow the footsteps of her father, she earned a degree as a chemical engineer. So that she could fulfil her dream to become an actor, she moved in New York. The Broadway roles were accompanied by a job at a local restaurant. Garner was a small part on "Felicity" (where she first met Scott Foley). Garner received her first break by the action-thriller "Alias." Her first leading role came in the critically acclaimed romantic comedy "13 Going thirty." Garner played a teenager trapped inside a 30-year old body. Garner chose Gary Winick, who directed the movie. She and Winick worked together to find other projects after the death of Winick. Garner became an ambassador of Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009.
