Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's top acclaimed actors. She is known for her strong character who are equally vulnerable. As a teenager, she spent her summers at her father's house her interest grew in the theater. While at Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. Within a mere two months after graduating she began her Broadway-based career. In the following year, she made her debut in film and television. Her appearances have been on a variety of shows on stage, television and film programs since. She has been nominated for three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), as well as received numerous awards over her time on the stage. In spite of numerous awards acting has been her passion first and foremost. She continues to perform both in stage and screen.
