She has been called"the horror queen" due to her film-related horror work. In 2012-2017, she starred in the role of Marnie Micheals on HBO's drama-comedy series Girls. Her character received nominations in the Critics' Choice Award. Her big break came when she played the part of Rose Armitage in the horror film Get Out (2017), that earned her nominations from the MTV Movie Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards among other accolades.
